A lot can happen between weekend one and weekend two of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival<\/a>. And if you\u2019re lucky, that could mean one of your favorite artists releasing the first single off of their next album and performing it as a special guest on the Coachella main stage.<\/p>\n That\u2019s exactly what happened for Olivia Rodrigo fans when she surprised the crowd during Addison Rae\u2019s performance on Saturday, April 18.<\/p>\n Rae first teased a surprise<\/a> was coming before teeing up her next song \u201cHeadphones On.\u201d Loud cheers took over the crowd when Rodrigo appeared on stage for the second verse. At first, the artwork, located at 7010 Melrose Ave. in Hollywood, was painted in Rodrigo\u2019s signature purple as seen in her first two albums \u201cSOUR\u201d and \u201cGUTS.\u201d It also featured her new \u201cOR\u201d initial\u2019s logo. But fans quickly realized that the mural was changing each day, being painted a different hue until finally landing on a soft muted pink.<\/p>\n After the album and single were announced, the mural reflected the new information and even transformed into a pop up for fans where they could pick up chewing gum as referenced as lyrics in Rodrigo\u2019s new single.<\/p>\n This isn\u2019t the first time Rodrigo has been a notable surprise guest at the annual music and arts festival. She previously joined No Doubt<\/a> on stage in 2024 to perform \u201cBathwater,\u201d from No Doubt\u2019s 2000 album, \u201cReturn of Saturn.\u201d Rodrigo was also spotted wearing a \u201cI heart No Doubt\u201d tee, similar to the ones she\u2019s worn on her sold out Guts World Tour<\/a>.<\/p>\n Usually, weekend two of Coachella means a decrease in special guests and surprise performances throughout the three-day festival, but this year some artists having been holding off their mega moment from the \u201cinfluencer Olympics\u201d as weekend one<\/a> has started to be referred to. Instead, they\u2019ve been rewarding the \u201cmusic lovers\u201d of the weekend two crowd with performances they\u2019ll never forget.<\/p>\n For instance, while Sabrina Carpenter<\/a> had some surprise cameos during her weekend one headliner set, she added an additional 10 minutes to her weekend two performance so she could perform three songs with pop star legend Madonna<\/a>. The two delighted fans with their performances of Madonna\u2019s hits \u201cVogue\u201d and \u201cLike a Prayer\u201d as well as an unreleased track from Madonna\u2019s rumored upcoming album.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n
