NEW YORK (AP) \u2014 Kansas City manager Matt Quatraro wanted to find out if Will Warren was committing a balk in the first inning when he was ejected by second base umpire Nestor Ceja in Saturday\u2019s 13-4 loss<\/a><\/span> to the New York Yankees.<\/p>\n \u201cI actually wasn\u2019t arguing,\u201d Quatraro said. \u201cI was just trying to get some clarification. We\u2019ve been told that if the pitcher\u2019s on the rubber, he\u2019s about to start and then he goes to touch the PitchCom, it should be a balk because it\u2019s essentially doing starting and stopping twice.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s what I was trying to get some clarification on. So, I was not out there to get ejected, but that\u2019s the way it ended up.\u201d<\/p>\n After Maikel Garcia was stranded at second base and nearly picked off, Quatraro raced out to start arguing with Ceja and Chris Guccione as the Royals took the field.<\/p>\n \u201cThey said it wasn\u2019t a balk,\u201d Quatraro said. \u201cTheir interpretation of it was that it was not a balk.\u201d<\/p>\n The argument did not appear heated initially, but when Quatraro turned away he was tossed.
