Cher<\/a> has a \u201csecret granddaughter\u201d that she only learned about a year ago \u2014 and the singer, 70, was reportedly \u201cspeechless\u201d when she found it.<\/p>\n On Saturday, April 19, The U.S. Sun<\/a> published an interview with former model Kayti Edwards, who had a brief romance with Cher\u2019s son, Elijah Allman, in 2010. They welcomed a baby girl, Ever, now 15.<\/p>\n According to Edwards \u2014 who is the step-granddaughter of Julie Andrews<\/a> \u2014 Cher called her less than a year ago to confront her about the possibility of having a grandchild.<\/p>\n \u201cCher got in touch with me last June and asked if it was true, so I had to confess,\u201d she told the outlet. \u201cShe said she had heard something about it from Elijah back in 2021, but didn\u2019t know if it was just crazy talk.<\/p>\n Edwards added, \u201cWhen she heard the news, she was speechless. He would pop in every couple of years but would just say hello.\u201d She explained that her husband has been Ever\u2019s \u201ctrue father\u201d all these years.<\/p>\n Edwards said that Allman recently expressed interest in connecting with his daughter. However, his ongoing struggles with addiction and his mental health, in addition to his recent assault and trespassing charges<\/a> at an elite prep school, prompted Edwards to \u201cshelter\u201d Ever from him. In April, Cher again filed for financial conservatorship<\/a> over her son following multiple arrests and a hospitalization.<\/p>\n Allman is Cher\u2019s second-born child, whom she welcomed with her second husband, Gregg Allman<\/a> of The Allman Brothers Band. The \u201cBelieve\u201d songstress also shares a son, Chaz Bono<\/a>, 57, with her first husband, the late Sonny Bono<\/a>, who died in 1998. Currently, Cher is dating music executive Alexander \u201cAE\u201d Edwards, 39; they have been in a relationship since 2022.<\/p>\n
