{"id":2380326,"date":"2026-04-19T20:13:18","date_gmt":"2026-04-19T20:13:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2380326"},"modified":"2026-04-19T20:13:18","modified_gmt":"2026-04-19T20:13:18","slug":"big-changes-for-sweet-16-music-event-starring-shaq-in-san-jose","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/big-changes-for-sweet-16-music-event-starring-shaq-in-san-jose\/","title":{"rendered":"Big changes for Sweet 16 music event starring Shaq in San Jose"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>SAN JOSE, Calif. \u2013 The Music Mania music festival, corresponding to the Sweet 16 NCAA Men\u2019s Basketball games being played at SAP Center in San Jose, was listed as canceled on its ticketing website as of Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Yet, a spokesman for the San Jose Mayor\u2019s Office now says that the event \u2013 headlined by NBA legend Shaquille O\u2019Neal \u2013 is still on, just in a different format than originally planned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMusic Mania has not been canceled \u2013 the festival is being reimagined and rescheduled as a free one-day show so anyone, regardless of income, can be a part of the event,\u201d the San Jose Mayor\u2019s Office spokesman said by email. \u201cVisitors and residents alike can still expect to see major artists, like Shaq and Whethan, with updated timing and location details to be announced soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The concert series was originally set to take place March 27 to 29 at the SoFa Lot at 350 S. First St., San Jose. The reimagined\/rescheduled event will happen on March 27, which falls in between the two days of NCAA college men\u2019s basketball games being held at SAP Center on March 26 and 28.<\/p>\n<p>The location for the new Music Mania has not yet been announced.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mercurynews.com\/2023\/08\/12\/outside-lands-kicks-off-year-15-with-kendrick-lamar-shaq-interpol-aespa\" target=\"_blank\">O\u2019Neal<\/a> was set to headline the original March 27, performing a dance music set under his music stage name DJ Diesel.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"print_trim\">Pop star Bebe Rexha and country music crooner Dustin Lynch were the other two headliners listed on the original lineup. Rexha was atop the bill for March 28 and Lynch was the headliner for March 29.
