Queen Elizabeth II\u2019s eldest grandson, Peter Phillips, has
\nrevealed that the Royal Family were all asking the same question as
\neveryone else in the world during one of the most famous moments of
\nher historic reign.<\/p>\n
As the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 Olympics got under way,
\nPeter Phillips shared that the tension over the famous scene
\ninvolving James Bond got all the royals talking. And the question
\nthey were asking was the same as that on the lips of all
\nviewers.<\/p>\n
Speaking on a new BBC One programme, Peter Phillips said \u201dwhen
\nthe clip first started, we were like, we wonder who they\u2019ve got
\nplaying The Queen and then she turned round and we were like
\n\u201dwow\u201d\u2026.it was sheer amazement\u2026.literally nobody knew.\u201d<\/p>\n
The famous moment came as the Opening Ceremony got under way and
\nJames Bond, played by Daniel Craig, strode into Buckingham Palace.
\nWithin seconds, the figure sat at a bureau in a peach dress turned
\nround and Elizabeth II famously said \u201dgood evening, Mr Bond\u201d. She
\nthen walked to a helicopter with him before appearing to parachute
\ninto the Olympic stadium.<\/p>\n
Peter Phillips was speaking on Queen Elizabeth II: Her Story,
\nOur Century which explored the life of the late Monarch and the
\nchanges that she had seen during her record breaking reign, the
\nlongest in British history.<\/p>\n
In another personal moment, Princess Anne\u2019s son said that during
\nPrince Philip\u2019s funeral, he had wanted to go and give his granny a
\nhug but social distancing meant that she sat by herself throughout
\nthe service at St. George\u2019s Chapel, Windsor.<\/p>\n
The programme also contained another royal revelation with Queen
\nCamilla telling the show that she believed Queen Elizabeth II had
\ncarved her own role in a man\u2019s world.<\/p>\n
The BBC programme was broadcast just days before the 100th
\nanniversary of the birth of Queen Elizabeth II and just hours after
\nit was announced that King Charles had chosen Anna Keay to be the
\nofficial biographer of his late mother.<\/p>\n
On the anniversary of the birth of Queen Elizabeth II, the Royal
\nFamily will come together to remember her with King Charles hosting
\na reception at Buckingham Palace where centenarians will get their
\nbirthday telegrams and mark the anniversary.<\/p>\n
