The New York Yankees<\/a> and Kansas City Royals<\/a> are slated to complete their series on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The weather may have other plans though as storms move through New York City.<\/p>\n

It’s not a guarantee that the game doesn’t start at its scheduled 1:35 p.m., but the Yanks were already warning fans well ahead of time.<\/p>\n

They wrote on social media<\/a> on Sunday morning:<\/p>\n

“As of 10:25 a.m., please be advised\u00a0we do not anticipate starting today’s game on time due to the current forecast of inclement weather. We will provide an update as more information is received.”<\/p>\n

There had been not much update by 12:45 p.m.<\/p>\n

Why is Yankees-Royals delayed?<\/h2>\n

If the game does indeed open in a delay, it’ll be due to that anticipated inclement weather that the Yankees were already expecting Sunday morning.<\/p>\n

The last thing they’d want would be to play an inning or two and then go into a long delay. That could mess with the starting pitchers, Ryan Weathers<\/a> and Cole Ragans<\/a>, and make the day a bit tougher on everyone involved.<\/p>\n
