One Hollywood A-lister failed to score any points with Kate Hudson and Mindy Kaling.<\/p>\n
The pair remember in an interview for the new season of Netflix\u2019s “Running Point” waiting in line at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party<\/a> for the magazine\u2019s famed portrait studio<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cAn A-list, male celebrity cut us in line for the portraits,\u201d series co-creator Kaling says. \u201cHe big-timed us.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe don’t really see him as A-list anymore,\u201d added star Hudson, 47.<\/p>\n Kaling, 46, agrees. \u201cI didn’t know Kate that well. I\u2019d met her at, like, a Christmas party at Reese Witherspoon\u2019s,\u201d the Emmy-nominated writer\/producer adds, before acknowledging her weighty name drops. \u201cWe hadn’t really chatted. But I remember thinking, \u2018I’m so annoyed,\u2019 and I just looked at her, and I was like, \u2018I’m just going to go and talk to her about it.\u2019 \u201d<\/p>\n Hudson declared the move \u201cnot cool,\u201d and Kaling knew, \u201cOK, I like her.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe best part about that moment was that the person realized they were cutting in front of two women, who had been waiting there, and realized that it was the wrong thing to do but did it anyway,\u201d Hudson shares. \u201cThat was where we were like, \u2018Wow.\u2019 \u2026 And we bonded over that.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd that pettiness has inspired a series, called \u2018Running Point,\u2019 \u201d Kaling jokes, \u201cand we are here to talk about the second season.\u201d<\/p>\n Yes, Netflix has 10 new episodes, out April 23. Hudson earned a nod<\/a> (her second) for her role in \u201cSong Sung Blue,\u201d<\/a> inspired by a real-life Neil Diamond tribute band.<\/p>\n \u201cI don’t think enough people know that the day that she was nominated for an Oscar, that morning, she had to come in to edit this show, because she\u2019s an executive producer,\u201d Kaling says.<\/p>\n \u201cDave Stassen, our showrunner was like, \u2018She’s obviously not going to come in this morning, as she shouldn’t.
