King Charles<\/a> will deliver a heartfelt address to the nation tomorrow to mark the late Queen Elizabeth’s 100th birthday celebration. While Buckingham Palace is keeping the contents of the message under wraps, they have released a still from the broadcast, which was filmed in the library of Balmoral Castle at the start of the month.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

It is a fitting tribute that the moving message was filmed at the late Queen’s favourite residence, where she died on September 8, 2022.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Standing in the corner of the room with hundreds of books neatly stacked on shelves, Charles is wearing a grey suit and a matching tie. There are two pictures prominently on display. One appears to be a photograph of the late Queen, and another a childhood drawing of the former monarch.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The full video broadcast will be released at midnight and kick off a day of events commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of Queen Elizabeth II.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

To mark the anniversary, the King and Queen, together with Members of the Royal Family, will view the design recommendations for the Queen Elizabeth Memorial at the British Museum before hosting a reception at Buckingham Palace. The Prince and Princess of Wales are expected to attend.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Princess Royal will also officially open The Queen Elizabeth II Garden in The Regent\u2019s Park, London.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The King is expected to reflect on his mother’s truly remarkable reign, which saw her become Britain’s longest-serving monarch.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She was a constant throughout a period of unprecedented change, and people across the globe looked to her for comfort and stability.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In his first address as King, Charles said the death of his mother was a “moment of great sadness” for him and his family and that her loss would be “deeply felt” around the world.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He added: “We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished sovereign and a much-loved mother.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
