Caitlyn Jenner<\/a> is revisiting one of the most talked-about moments of her public transition, saying she now believes accepting Glamour\u2019s Woman of the Year honor in 2015 was a mistake.<\/p>\n During a new interview with Tomi Lahren on OutKick<\/em><\/a>, Jenner said she feels like a \u201chypocrite\u201d for taking the award while also arguing that transgender women should not compete in women\u2019s sports.<\/p>\n The former Olympian, who has become one of the most visible conservative voices on transgender issues, said her current views forced her to rethink the recognition she received more than a decade ago.<\/p>\n COMPLEX SHOP:<\/b> Shop the brands you love, anytime and anywhere. Obsess.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cHere I am fighting the battle to keep biological men out of women\u2019s sports because it\u2019s not right,\u201d Jenner said. \u201cAnd I want to protect women.\u201d<\/p>\n She added that she began questioning her decision to accept Glamour\u2019s award because, in her words, \u201cI\u2019m a biological man, and they gave me Glamour\u2019s Woman of the Year award.\u201d<\/p>\n Jenner went on to explain that she sees a distinction between her gender identity and her genetics. She said she considers herself female following gender confirmation surgery but acknowledged that she still has XY chromosomes.<\/p>\n \u201cGenetically, I\u2019m still XY. There\u2019s nothing I can do about that,\u201d Jenner said. \u201cAnd I\u2019m fine with it. I\u2019m just glad that I can wake up in the morning and just be myself.\u201d<\/p>\n Glamour<\/em> named Jenner one of its Women of the Year in 2015, just months after she publicly came out as transgender and began a new chapter in the spotlight. At the time, Jenner embraced the recognition and used her acceptance speech to frame her transition as part of a broader conversation about identity and visibility.<\/p>\n Jenner later distanced herself from the award itself. In 2024, she revealed that she had returned the Woman of the Year trophy, saying she no longer believed she should have accepted it. She said conversations with women and parents who opposed transgender inclusion in female categories caused her to reconsider the decision.<\/p>\n At the same time, Jenner said she believes the country has moved too far in the opposite direction on some transgender issues. In the same interview, she criticized bathroom bans and said recent efforts to restrict how transgender people are identified on official documents have gone \u201ctoo far right.\u201d<\/p>\n Jenner revealed that when she renewed her passport, it was returned with a male marker instead of a female one.<\/p>\n Jenner\u2019s public life since then has become increasingly complicated. In recent months, she has been back in the headlines following the death of longtime friend and manager Sophia Hutchins, who died in an ATV accident in Malibu in July 2025 at age 29. Jenner later filed a claim against Hutchins\u2019 estate seeking repayment for more than $439,000 in expenses she said were never reimbursed<\/a>.
