EAST FAIRFIELD \u2014 On Saturday, April 25, Mary McGinnis and the Selkies will showcase the talents of veteran Vermont musicians at the Meeting House on the Green.<\/span><\/p>\n The Selkies \u2014 including McGinniss (vocals, guitar), Juliet McVicker (vocals, bass) and Steve Wienert (percussion) \u2014 weave melody and rhythms from the deep well of rock n\u2019 roll, R&B and Celtic song. They play iconic classics from multiple genres with fresh interpretations of old classics as well as original music.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n An undeniable Celtic spirit suffuses McGinniss\u2019s music with an emotional resonance that appeals to audiences of all ages. McVicker has a prominent place among Vermont jazz musicians especially through her association with Pine Street Jazz and the storied Singers Circle. Among Vermont\u2019s finest percussionists, Weinart rounds on this venerable with impeccable timing and tastefully supportive percussion.<\/span><\/p>\n Joining them for this show will be Bakersfield\u2019s favorite son Will Patton on tenor guitar, mandolin and dobro.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Showtime is 5-7 p.m. with delicious light fare and desserts available.
