The new trailer for animal attack thriller Hungry<\/em>, hitting VOD on June 23 from Aura Entertainment, proves that in spades:<\/p>\n Directed by James Nunn (One Shot<\/em> trilogy) and starring Madison Davenport (Sharp Objects<\/em>), Hungry<\/em> follows thrill-seeking tourists on a riverboat tour through the treacherous Louisiana swamplands. Lured off the beaten path by the promise of an exclusive adventure, they soon find themselves fighting for survival against a ravenous hippopotamus lurking beneath the bayou\u2019s murky waters.<\/p>\n Also starring in Hungry<\/em> are Joaquim de Almeida (Road House<\/em>), Tracey Bonner (The Exorcism<\/em>), Jim Meskimen (Apollo 13<\/em>), Samantha Coughlan (Damage<\/em>), Olivia Bernstone (Mood<\/em>) Michel Curiel (She Hulk: Attorney At Law<\/em>) and River Codack (Under the Bridge<\/em>).<\/p>\n Hungry<\/em> joins the recent renaissance of animal attack horror-thrillers, with a slate that includes Johannes Roberts’ Primate<\/em><\/a>, the recent Anaconda<\/em><\/a> reboot starring Jack Black and Paul Rudd, Netflix’s Cujo<\/em> remake<\/a>, Morihito Inoue\u2019s horror-comedy Hot Spring Shark Attack <\/em>and its upcoming sequel<\/a>, Dangerous Animals<\/em><\/a>, and Tina Romero’s recently-announced \u201cbig gay shark horror movie<\/a>\u201c, Jawline<\/em>, to name but a few.
