\u201cSo young or old, and whatever our differences, let us therefore seek to follow this example as we make today not the marking of a milestone felt by absence but the celebration of a life well-lived, and a legacy of hope, as we strive together towards a \u2018better, happier tomorrow\u2019 \u2013 one rooted in peace, justice, prosperity and security.\u201d<\/p>\n

The King added: \u201cIn this, I renew my own solemn pledge of duty and service to you all. God bless you, darling mama; you remain forever in our hearts and prayers.\u201d<\/p>\n

He began the commemorations by touring an exhibition of his late mother\u2019s clothes, saying it \u201cbrought back memories\u201d.<\/p>\n

The King and Queen were at the King\u2019s Gallery at Buckingham Palace<\/a> to see Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style exhibition. It is the largest and most comprehensive presentation of the late Queen\u2019s fashion, and features more than 300 items.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
