Wife and husband duo Anne Tong and Bryce Barsten are pop band Chinese American Bear. Together, they create what\u2019s been described as \u201cbilingual ear candy,\u201d singing in both English and Chinese about their combined cultures under a bubbly lens.<\/p>\n

New album Dim Sum & Then Some<\/u><\/i><\/a> is due out May 8 to Moshi Moshi Records, and one of the clear highlights is the catchy \u201cTurn Up the Radio (\u628a\u6536\u97f3\u673a\u5f00\u5927\u70b9),\u201d where the prompt is totally warranted.<\/p>\n

Barsten calls it \u201ca kids song for adults,\u201d which is reflected in a music video that features a little girl shimmying in her bedroom with her toys as the audience. \u201cI like that it sounds really simple and playful,\u201d Barsten added, \u201cbut then the production twists it just enough so it\u2019s not actually \u2018kids music.\u2019 It\u2019s bright, fun, a little sugary, but with this slightly trippy edge underneath.\u201d<\/p>\n
