Christina Applegate has broken her silence on her alleged hospitalisation to share a health update.<\/p>\n

It follows reports, which were first shared by TMZ<\/a>, that the 54-year-old Dead to Me<\/em> actress<\/a> was admitted late last month for unspecified reasons.<\/a><\/p>\n

Although the star has always been candid about her struggles with multiple sclerosis (MS)<\/a>, it’s unknown whether her hospital admission was related to this or something separate.<\/p>\n

MS is a long-term, autoimmune neurological condition that affects the brain and spinal cord – it cannot currently be cured, but treatment can help manage it.<\/p>\n

Applegate’s<\/a> rep told Tyla last week: “I have no comment whether she is in the hospital or what her medical treatments are. She’s had a long history of complicated medical<\/a> conditions that she has been refreshingly open about, as evidenced in her memoir and on her podcast.”<\/p>\n

This followed an announcement on 31 March from the actresses’ MeSsy<\/em> podcast<\/a> co-host, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who told listeners that the show would be going on a brief break while the duo are on book tours.<\/p>\n

The actress took to Instagram to share a health update (Instagram\/christinaapplegate)<\/cite><\/div>\n

On Monday (20 April), Applegate spoke out to give an update following the hospitalisation reports, which left many fans worried.<\/p>\n

She took to Instagram<\/a> to share a picture of a mug with the writing ‘Kissy Kissy’ sitting on top of her memoir<\/a>, You With The Sad Eyes<\/em>, which was released on 3 March.<\/p>\n

Applegate wrote in her caption: “Thank you for the outpouring of love and well-wishes. Health issues are a constant for me, but I\u2019m a strong chick, and I\u2019m getting stronger and better every day.”<\/p>\n

She assured: “I\u2019m taking a moment to focus on my health, but I\u2019ll be back with more to say soon enough.”<\/p>\n

Fans rushed to the comments to send their support towards the actress<\/a>, with one writing: “Sending the biggest hug.”<\/p>\n

A second penned: “Christina, just in case today\u2019s mail got lost: We the public would like to formally submit that we adore you, support you, and RIDE AT DAWN FOR YOU ALWAYS.”<\/p>\n

And a third and fourth chimed in with: “Sending you all the love my queen” and “Your strength in the face of such insurmountable hardships is truly awe-inspiring.”<\/p>\n

Applegate appeared on Good Morning America last month to promote her new memoir (Good Morning America)<\/cite><\/div>\n

Applegate first shared news of her MS diagnosis in the summer of 2021 and, since then, has been open about her health journey, while raising awareness for the condition. <\/p>\n

Last month, she opened up about living with MS during an appearance on Good Morning America<\/em><\/a> to promote her memoir.<\/p>\n

Speaking to co-anchor Robin Roberts, she candidly admitted, “It still sucks, Robin. It really does. I have so many friends who have MS. And we talk to each other constantly. And I don’t have one that says, ‘I’m great.'”<\/p>\n

“There is no great. There’s a better day and a less sh*tty day. This is a lifelong disease with no cure. Period.”<\/p>\n

When asked ‘where she is with the grieving process’ of living with the condition, the actress responded: “Where am I at with acceptance? Not at all. I hate it.”<\/p>\n

Praising her teen daughter Sadie, she added: “I wake up every day and go, ‘I’m Sadie’s momma.’ And that, to me, is why I’m still here.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
