Inspired by a now-viral song on social media, IHOP has launched<\/a> a new menu item that pairs bananas with crispy chicken strips and the company’s signature pancakes.<\/p>\n The price for the new menu item, Chicken & Banana Pancakes<\/a>, varies by location. The meal includes four buttermilk crispy chicken strips and three banana pancakes topped with banana slices.<\/p>\n The meal is based on Crazy Music Channel\u2019s \u201cChicken Banana\u201d song, released in February 2025. The dance track, made up of just a few lyrics, has over 200 million views<\/a> on YouTube as of late April. The song also has over 55 million streams<\/a> on Spotify.<\/p>\n “You’ve heard the song. Now get the meal,\u201d IHOP shared on its website. The pick comes with the customer\u2019s choice of sauce, including honey mustard, buttermilk ranch or IHOP sauce.<\/p>\n In an email to USA TODAY, IHOP said the song \u201chas become a punchline, a beat, and a meme used across food content, comedy skits, and dance videos.\u201d\u00a0The chain also said the promotion will run through May 31.<\/p>\n The company added, \u201cIHOP asked the obvious question: what if we didn\u2019t joke about it\u2026 what if we made it?\u201d<\/p>\n USA TODAY contacted the creators of Crazy Music Channel to get their thoughts on the song\u2019s virality and IHOP\u2019s latest menu addition, but has not received a response.<\/p>\n The \u201cChicken Banana\u201d video features a chicken initially, and then as the artist recites “Chicken, banana,” the two are fused \u2013 a chicken with a banana for a body. There\u2019s even a chicken DJ in the video, bopping its head to the beat, and a chicken driving a truck by as the song plays.<\/p>\n Michel Petr\u00e9, CEO of the label MTM Music, which licensed the song<\/a>, told Vox<\/a> that the hit’s creators wanted to make people laugh.<\/p>\n \u201cYou know, let\u2019s just put the chicken and banana together,\u201d he told the outlet.<\/p>\n The song has since been shared across multiple social media platforms, including in dance videos on TikTok.
