New Kensington\u2019s Fridays on Fifth will be kicking off its 2026 season Friday with an array of food trucks and live music from \u201990s cover band High Fidelity.<\/p>\n
Organizer Tony Vigilante said he tries to book a variety of food options without menu duplicates at the monthly food truck festival.<\/p>\n
Some trucks however, such as Del Vecchio\u2019s and Taqueria El Pastorcito, are monthly staples, he said.<\/p>\n
The festival is from 5 to 9 p.m. on the fourth Friday of every month through October.<\/p>\n
This month, there will be more than 20 food trucks, including The Farmers Burger, Cilantro and Ajo, The Pittsburgh Pierogie Truck, Pappy\u2019s Gourmet Popcorn and Main Squeeze Juice\u2019s smoothie truck, some of which are new to the festival\u2019s roster.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think it\u2019s going to be a good community event,\u201d Vigilante said.<\/p>\n
Vigilante said the event is a benefit to local businesses and also serves to strengthen New Kensington\u2019s image.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt helps change people\u2019s perception of the town,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
This is the festival\u2019s sixth season and Michelle Thom, general manager of Voodoo Brewing, said it has been a hit since the first season.<\/p>\n
The event brings the community together, Thom said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe think it\u2019s an amazing event. It\u2019s great for all the downtown businesses,\u201d Thom said.<\/p>\n
Thom said she\u2019s excited to see the new food trucks that there will be.<\/p>\n
Voodoo provides the music for each month\u2019s gathering, Thom said.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
