In cinema, Sandra directed the feature documentary Lowland Kids<\/em> (2019), which was selected for the Generation section at the Berlinale, where it received the Youth Jury Award and an Honorable Mention. The film was produced by the company founded by acclaimed director and screenwriter Darren Aronofsky (The Whale<\/em>, Black Swan<\/em>, Requiem for a Dream<\/em>). Lowland Kids<\/em> follows the last two teenagers living on Isle de Jean Charles in Louisiana, USA, and had its world premiere at CPH:DOX. Since then, it has screened at major festivals worldwide, including IDFA, DOC NYC, Sheffield DocFest, Deauville, and the Sydney Film Festival. Its theatrical release is scheduled for 2026.
