Scott Wolf<\/strong><\/a> opened up about how he navigates talking to his and ex Kelley Wolf<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s children about their family\u2019s personal matters making headlines.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have the conversation before, whether it\u2019s something they read or someone at school comes up and it\u2019s like, \u2018I read this,\u2019\u201d Scott, 57, said on the Wednesday, April 22, episode of Jana Kramer<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cWhine Down\u201d<\/a> podcast. \u201cWithout going into great detail, our family went through a really really difficult thing this past you know year especially, but a little longer than that, and it became public.\u201d<\/p>\n

Scott was referring to his tumultuous split from Kelley, 49, last year. The Doc actor shared that the separation was \u201cthe first time\u201d his family experienced so much interest from the public. (Scott and Kelley share three kids: Jackson, 16, Miller, 12, and Lucy, 11.)<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople have been like your dad\u2019s an actor, but it was never our personal lives. And that was pretty horrific, just feeling like they were going to have to deal with that,\u201d he continued. \u201cTo be honest, what was going on in our own home was so important to be dealing with.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tScott Wolf addressed his recent family reunion with ex Kelley Wolf amid their ongoing divorce. \u201cWhile I would never have wanted anything to have been made public, I guess it just felt like our family deserved to have things not just sit in some kind of awful dark place in terms of perception,\u201d the Doc [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Scott shared that he wasn\u2019t focused on how the public was tuned into his and Kelley\u2019s relationship woes. While he knew his children \u201cwere going to be confronted by it\u201d at some point, he was also appreciative of how his community supported their family.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople really kind of wrapped their arms around us and knew that we were going through something hard, and rather than it being like people snickering and looking at us at the market, it just felt like we got a big hug from this place,\u201d he explained. \u201cAnd so that was pretty remarkable.\u201d<\/p>\n

Scott added that even his kids\u2019 classmates rallied around them amid the difficult time.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone at the schools and even these kids, that\u2019s to say, like, for all of the exposure they\u2019re having that horrifies us, they\u2019re also being exposed to layers of life and different experiences,\u201d he said. \u201cThey\u2019re way more compassionate and empathetic than we were. Rather than kids making fun of them about what was happening. It was just different \u2026 Every kid goes through versions of something hard in their own lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last year, Scott filed for divorce<\/a> from Kelley after more than two decades of marriage.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter 21 years of marriage, I have made the most difficult decision of my life, and filed for divorce from my wife Kelley,\u201d Scott said in a statement to People in June 2025. \u201cOur children have always been, and continue to be, the loves of our lives and our every priority, so I kindly ask for privacy at this time as we help guide them through this new chapter.\u201d<\/p>\n
