Smerz<\/a>, the Norwegian duo of Catharina Stoltenberg and Henriette Motzfeldt, are ready to unveil another batch of breathy pop songs. Easy EP<\/em> is due out May 15 via Escho<\/a>. Leading the six-song release is the song \u201cSpring Summer,\u201d which you can listen to below.<\/p>\n \u201cAt the tail end of finishing Big City Life<\/em> last year, we made the song \u2018Easy\u2019 and from there went off on a tangent,\u201d the duo explained in a press release. \u201cMany of Big City Life<\/em>\u2019s songs are rooted in specific stories, this Easy EP<\/em> presented itself in a more open-ended process\u2014almost like a daily journal. It began as a snapshot of a moment, one that was about to become our spring last year, and was finished moving into spring of 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n Easy EP<\/em> is available to save on the duo\u2019s Bandcamp<\/a>. Among the tracklist titles are seemingly two variations on other songs on the EP, \u201cSpring Summer 3 Beat\u201d and \u201cSomewhere 2,\u201d if their names are any indication.<\/p>\n Smerz are currently in the midst of a tour<\/a> of North America and Europe. Last year, they dropped their standout sophomore album, Big City Life<\/em><\/a>. They gave the record new life in November by handing the songs over to a star-studded list of musicians\u2014Clairo, ML Buch, Astrid Sonne, Erika de Casier, MIKE, They Are Gutting a Body of Water\u2014to remix the music or add a guest verse.
