The 2025-26 Celebrity Series at Westminster College will end with a Commotion. <\/p>\n
Tribute act Commotion plays the music of Creedence Clearwater Revival. In a two-year span from July 1968 to July 1970, CCR released five Platinum or multi-Platinum selling albums that spawned 11 top 40 hits, including \u201cProud Mary,\u201d \u201cBad Moon Rising,\u201d \u201cGreen River,\u201d \u201cDown on the Corner,\u201d \u201cFortunate Son\u201d and \u201cWho\u2019ll Stop the Rain.\u201d <\/p>\n
Commotion is led by lead guitar player Jimmy Ryan, lead singer Steve McLain, drummer Mark Ellis and bassist George Foster. <\/p>\n
Ryan got his start in the band The Critters, which had success in the \u201960s with \u201cMr. Dieingly Sad\u201d and \u201cYounger Girl.\u201d Ryan later spent years touring with Carly Simon (he\u2019s the one playing the guitar solo on \u201cYou\u2019re So Vain\u201d), and he\u2019s worked with such iconic artists as Paul McCartney, Elton John, Mick Jagger, Cat Stevens, James Taylor, Rod Stewart and Jim Croce.<\/p>\n
The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Orr Auditorium, Westminster Drive, New Wilmington, Pa. Tickets range from $39 to $52 and are available online at www.westminster.edu\/celebrity and by calling 724-946-7354.<\/p>\n
