During the New Orleans Jazz &amp; Heritage Festival, music venues kick into overdrive.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a sampling of this coming week\u2019s highlights.<\/p>\n<h3>THURSDAY<\/h3>\n<p>Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro and CubaNOLA Arts Collective present New Orleans-based Cuban trumpeter <strong>David \u201cDavisito\u201d Navarro<\/strong> and veteran Cuban drummer <strong>Horacio \u201cEl Negro\u201d Hernandez<\/strong>, who has worked with McCoy Tyner, Carlos Santana, Steve Winwood, Tito Puente and New Orleans\u2019 own Charles Neville and Los Hombres Calientes. At Snug Harbor, Navarro and Hernandez will be joined by percussionist <strong>Alexey Marti<\/strong>, bassist <strong>Max Moran<\/strong>, pianist <strong>Oscar Rossignoli<\/strong> and saxophonist <strong>Brent Rose<\/strong>. Showtimes are at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m., 30 minutes later than usual at Snug Harbor. Tickets are $45.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"2\" style=\"position:relative;\">\n<div class=\"col-md-8\">\n<p>\u201cBayou By Bus\u201d is hybrid of Jamaican\/Marley music with a New Orleans\/Nevilles spin as performed by <strong>the Nth Power Cyril Neville, Ivan Neville, Ian Neville, Papa Mali&#8217;s Shantytown<\/strong>, trombonist <strong>Mark Mullins\u00a0&amp; the Levee Horns<\/strong> and more at the Civic Theatre. First up is \u201cAcoustic Jazz Lovers\u201d at 7 p.m., followed by \u201cSoul and Smooth Jazz Lovers\u201d at 9 p.m. and finally the \u201cRoots to Infinity Jam Band\u201d at 11 p.m. Tickets are available for the individual shows; a pass to all three is $113.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"3\" style=\"position:relative;\">\n<div class=\"col-md-8\">\n<p>It\u2019s a double Zydeco Night at Rock \u2018N\u2019 Bowl with <strong>Chubby Carrier<\/strong> and <strong>Rosie Ledet<\/strong>; tickets are $20.<\/p>\n<p>The 8 p.m. show at the Maple Leaf Bar is <strong>007<\/strong>, the rocksteady-inspired band featuring drummer <strong>Jeffrey \u201cHouseman\u201d Clemens<\/strong>, guitarists <strong>Alex McMurray<\/strong> and <strong>Jonathan Freilich<\/strong>, and bassist <strong>Joe Cabral<\/strong>\u00a0of the Iguanas; tickets are $24. The Leaf\u2019s 10 p.m. show with <strong>George Porter Jr., Johnny Vidacovich<\/strong> and <strong>Luther Dickinson<\/strong> is sold out. Even later, at 1 a.m., funk and soul band <strong>Pocket Chocolate<\/strong> grooves at the Leaf; tickets are $24.<\/p>\n<p>Americana duo <strong>Gillian Welch &amp; David Rawlings<\/strong> put an acoustic spin on the Grateful Dead\u2019s live \u201cReckoning\u201d and more at the Saenger Theatre; tickets start at $30.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"4\" style=\"position:relative;\">\n<div class=\"col-md-8\">\n<p>The 16th annual Threadhead Thursday at the outdoor Broadside features <strong>J and The Causeways<\/strong> and <strong>Dave Jordan&#8217;s Almost Acoustic<\/strong>. Showtime is 7 p.m.; admission is free.<\/p>\n<p><strong>STS9<\/strong> is at the Joy Theater for the first of two consecutive nights on the &#8220;Human Dream Tour&#8221;; two-night passes are $95.<\/p>\n<p>Singer-songwriter <strong>Kevn Kinney<\/strong>, of Atlanta rock band Drivin N Cryin, performs a solo show of his folkier compositions at Chickie Wah Wah at 8 p.m. He\u2019ll be joined by <strong>Rurik Nunan<\/strong> on fiddle, singer-songwriter <strong>Kristin Diable<\/strong> and other guests. Tickets are $25.<\/p>\n<p>At 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Chickie Wah Wah presents The Wild Tchoupitoulas 50th Anniversary featuring <strong>Cyril Neville<\/strong>, aka The Uptown Ruler.
