The latest polls show his approval dropping to just 32%<\/a>, driven largely by dissatisfaction with how he\u2019s handling the war in Iran and inflation. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Trump took to social media to share a much more favorable number instead. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIn response to his sinking poll numbers, today Trump posted a New York Times article praising \u2018The Apprentice\u2019s\u2019 ratings from April of 2004,\u201d Colbert pointed out. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Indeed, the president shared a two-decade-old Times report about his season 1 ratings on Truth Social<\/a>: <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Colbert read between the lines. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cAlways a tip off that life isn\u2019t going great for you when you start to brag about something from 22 years ago,\u201d he pointed out. \u201cYou kids think dad\u2019s a loser? Well, I\u2019ll have you know that back in high school, I once won two free tickets to see the Spin Doctors in Anaheim at the Grove.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
