Russell Brand has taken a swipe at his ex-wife Katy Perry, joking she could “come to her senses any minute” over her relationship with Justin Trudeau.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The comedian and actor, 50<\/a>, made the pointed remarks during an appearance on The Megyn Kelly Show<\/a> on Wednesday, April 22, where he was promoting his new book How to Become a Christian in 7 Days.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

During the chat, Brand couldn\u2019t resist joking about Perry\u2019s current romance with Trudeau while also reflecting on their past marriage. The pair tied the knot in 2010 before splitting just two years later in 2012. It comes as Russell Brand admits to sleeping with 16-year-old girl and denies wrongdoing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“I put up with a lot with that ex-wife of mine, but you took it too far, KP,” he quipped.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He then compared Perry\u2019s past and present partners, adding: “Orlando Bloom, I love that guy. Brilliant. Justin Trudeau, though, potentially Fidel Castro\u2019s spawn. No, there we draw the line.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Brand went on to call Trudeau “a child God” and said he still disagrees with how he handled the trucker protests against Covid-19 vaccine mandates in Canada. He also questioned the sincerity of what he described as “good-looking politicians,” naming Barack Obama, Emmanuel Macron and Tony Blair.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Despite the jabs, Brand insisted he was joking as he said he remained hopeful Perry might rethink the relationship.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“Is she still going out with him?” he asked. Host Megyn Kelly replied: “Yeah we checked this morning and it appears they are still together.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Perry and Trudeau first sparked romance rumors in July 2025 before going Instagram official in December. It comes following the end of her relationship with Orlando Bloom, 49, whom she had a child with, their daughter Daisy Dove.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Katy Perry\u2019s split from the Hollywood actor came after years together, with sources saying the relationship had been “a long time coming” following months of tension and time spent apart while she toured.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Insiders claimed the pair had been “living on an island of stress” and struggled to make things work, with one source saying they reached a point where “there is no going back to a healthy relationship.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A source close to them gave Us Weekly more insight, saying, “Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable. It\u2019s not contentious at the moment. Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The breakup was “a long time coming. [Things] have been tense for months,\u201d the source said, adding, \u201c[They] have been living apart since Katy has been on tour.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Their breakup was confirmed in a joint statement shared via their reps for People Magazine.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
