{"id":2385729,"date":"2026-04-23T12:25:05","date_gmt":"2026-04-23T12:25:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2385729"},"modified":"2026-04-23T12:25:05","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T12:25:05","slug":"take-part-in-this-walkable-open-brooklyn-music-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/take-part-in-this-walkable-open-brooklyn-music-festival\/","title":{"rendered":"Take Part in This Walkable, Open Brooklyn Music Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p>Brooklyn Conservatory hosts Open Stages on May 9, featuring performances on stoops, sidewalks, playgrounds and cafes.<\/p>\n<div id=\"details-body\" data-words=\"287\" itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n<p data-end=\"1936\" data-start=\"1463\"><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/bkcm.org\/\">Brooklyn Conservatory of Music<\/a> will host its sixth annual <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/bkcm.org\/openstages\/\">Open Stages<\/a> festival on Saturday, May 9, bringing a neighborhood-wide celebration of live music to more than 15 stages across Park Slope.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1936\" data-start=\"1463\">Performances will take place on stoops, sidewalks, playgrounds and in local cafes, transforming the neighborhood into a walkable, open-air venue. The event is free and also serves as a fundraiser for the conservatory\u2019s music education and music therapy programs.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"2196\" data-start=\"1938\">This year, the festival introduces <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/bkcm.org\/open-stages-2026-community-stage-application\/\">Community Stages<\/a>, an initiative inviting residents to host performances outside their homes. Anyone with access to a stoop, garden or similar space in Park Slope can apply to participate and be included on the festival map.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"2196\" data-start=\"1938\">\u201cOpen Stages has grown to be one of Brooklyn\u2019s favorite events. As a nod to the incredible talent in Park Slope, we\u2019re excited to add something different to this year\u2019s festival, showcasing homegrown performers through our Community Stages,\u201d said Chad Cooper, executive director of the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"2480\" data-start=\"2198\">The lineup will include students from the conservatory\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/bkcm.org\/suzuki\/\">Suzuki<\/a>, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/bkcm.org\/community-music-school\/\">Community Music School<\/a>, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/bkcm.org\/studios\/\">Studio Collective<\/a> and <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/bkcm.org\/music-therapy\/\">Music Therapy programs<\/a>, along with local groups such as <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/bkcm.org\/openstages\/#h-community-stages-host-music-on-your-own-stoop\">Yesterday\u2019s News<\/a> and the teen rock band the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/bkcm.org\/openstages\/#h-community-stages-host-music-on-your-own-stoop\">DaFunkies<\/a>.
