At first glance, Jesse and Noah Bellamy \u2014 a.k.a. the country-rock duo known as Jesse and Noah<\/a> \u2014 might appear a tad too young to be singing a tune titled \u201cOld Cowboys.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cMaybe so,\u201d Jesse told C&I a few days ago. \u201cBut we\u2019re getting older every day.\u201d<\/p>\n But seriously, folks \u2026<\/p>\n \u201cReally, it\u2019s just about the romantic notion of cowboys. That\u2019s always been a part of \u2014 not just music, but all the different art forms, all the different mediums. Especially in this country, but also all over the world. I mean, the cowboy is just a romantic figure.\u201d<\/p>\n Just to keep their bases covered, however, Jesse and Noah \u2014 sons of David Bellamy of The Bellamy Brothers<\/a> \u2014 decided to bring a few real old cowboys along for the ride. That\u2019s where Riders in the Sky<\/a> came in.<\/p>\n \u201cMy brother and I were [recording demos] of some songs,\u201d Jesse said. \u201cAnd I don\u2019t know, we finished about \u00a0seven or eight of them. And then I asked him, \u2018Do you have anything else?\u2019<\/p>\n \u201cAnd that was the first time he played the sort of skeleton of [\u2018Old Cowboys\u2019] for me, and we demoed it.\u201d<\/p>\n
