Jo Dee Messina<\/strong> hasn\u2019t released a full-length studio album in a dozen years, but that\u2019s about to change.<\/p>\n The country music veteran will release \u201cBridges\u201d on June 5 and is launching a tour to go with it. She\u2019ll play Packard Music Hall in Warren at 7:30 p.m. Friday.<\/p>\n The Massachusetts native hit the big time 30 years ago with a debut album that included the everlasting favorite \u201cHeads Carolina, Tails California.\u201d That song got a reset a few years ago when Cole Swindell sampled it in his song \u201cShe Had Me at Heads Carolina.\u201d<\/p>\n Her first No. 1 hit, \u201cBye Bye,\u201d arrived in 1998.<\/p>\n The upcoming album has already spawned a strong single in \u201cSome Bridges.\u201d The tune has the powerful lyric \u201csome bridges are meant to burn.\u201d It\u2019s a life lesson about not repeating the mistakes of the past.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re told as a kid, don\u2019t burn bridges \u2013 you might need them later,\u201d Messina said in a recent interview with radio personality Bobby Bones. \u201cBut sometimes you have to burn bridges if they would lead you back to a place that\u2019s hurtful.\u201d<\/p>\n As to what caused the delay between albums,\u00a0 Messina said she just didn\u2019t have the time. She has two teenage boys, and taking care of them took up most of her days.<\/p>\n \u201cI now have the time to do it, and I have the want,\u201d is how she explained it on Taste of Country.<\/p>\n Messina has left a huge musical footprint in her long career, with nine No. 1 hits and 16 songs that landed in the Top 40.\u00a0<\/p>\n Her fans in the Valley are eager to see her in person; ticket sales are strong for her Packard show.
