ESCONDIDO, Calif. (FOX 5\/KUSI) \u2014 People are invited to journey back in the time to the 16th century this weekend at the Escondido Renaissance Faire.<\/p>\n
The event, which has operated by Old Tyme Productions Inc. for more than 20 years, will take place on two weekends: April 25-26 and May 2-3.<\/p>\n
People of all ages can immerse themselves in activities reminiscent of the Renaissance time period including archery and jousting tournaments, music by the Banjo Bard and other live entertainment.<\/p>\n
Immersive shark encounter opening soon at SeaWorld San Diego <\/a><\/p>\n Requirements for people to take part in the archery tournament include a costume, a traditional bow and wooden arrows fletched with feathers.<\/p>\n Food and drink offerings include turkey legs, beer, wine and \u2014 of course \u2014 mead. A map of the various activities, stages and food vendors can be found here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Costume attire is encouraged for attendants, but not required.<\/p>\n The faire will be held at Felicita County Park at 742 Clarence Lane in Escondido from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on each day of the event. Overflow parking with a free shuttle will be available at the JC Penney Parking Lot at 290 E. Via Rancho Pkwy.<\/p>\n Ticket prices vary depending on the number of days guests plan to attend. Single-day tickets cost $32 for adults, $14 for children ages 5-11 and $27 for seniors over 65, military members and law enforcement.
