Students connect with peers who share their passion and often leave with lasting friendships.<\/p>\n \u201cI think the personal relationships\u2026is the predominant growth that I see,\u201d Biello said, noting that even shy students leave with a sense of belonging.<\/p>\n The camp is open to students across the Pacific Northwest, ages 12-20, of all skill levels, creating a unique and memorable experience that participants won\u2019t soon forget.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Long-time faculty and GRAMMY Award-winning jazz trumpeter and composer Charlie Porter<\/a> said they create a supportive environment for students of all skill levels, a place where they feel invited, inspired, and challenged.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re teaching people that sometimes have a lot of knowledge with improvisation and sometimes don\u2019t have any at all,\u201d Porter said. \u201cWe find a way, always, to mix people together where everybody is finding that they\u2019re challenged and that they\u2019re doing something that\u2019s making them raise their game.\u201d<\/p>\n The festival\u2019s success is inseparable from the community that supports it. From local schools and city partnerships to volunteers who handle everything from logistics to meals, the event is powered by collective effort.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s an army of volunteers, and the people of Blaine step up, all year long, to make it happen,\u201d Tuski said.<\/p>\n That commitment is rooted in the festival\u2019s mission to make music education accessible.
