Friday, April 24th is one of those days. Though there might not be many big, buzzy arena-level names in the mix here, take it from someone who gets to peek ahead: there are some really great country album that you don\u2019t want to miss. <\/p><p><strong>Dale Watson \u2013 <em>Unwanted<\/em><\/strong><br\/><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-thumbnail\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/DaleWatson-Unwanted-1500x1500-1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-231030\" srcset=\"https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/DaleWatson-Unwanted-1500x1500-1-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/DaleWatson-Unwanted-1500x1500-1-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/DaleWatson-Unwanted-1500x1500-1.jpg 350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s hard to to find a more real deal performer than\u00a0Dale Watson. Catch him at the Continental Club or The Broken Spoke in Austin, or perhaps jumping up on the stage at Hernando\u2019s Hide-A-Way in Memphis, or hundreds of places in-between and beyond, and you\u2019ll see the true embodiment of country. In fact Dale\u2019s so country and committed to the roots of the genre, he doesn\u2019t feel comfortable calling himself \u201ccountry\u201d anymore. He prefers the name \u201cAmeripolitan.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whatever you want to call it, you can be assured that Dale Watson\u2019s new album called\u00a0<em>Unwanted<\/em>\u00a0will be twangy, hard-charging, and true to itself when it\u2019s released via Forty Below Records. The twelve tracks all self-produced and written by Dale comes as his first new music since 2023\u2019s\u00a0<em>Starvation Box<\/em>. And few bring as much pain and real-world weariness behind their words and voices as Rachel. She won\u2019t be selling out arenas coast to coast anytime soon. That\u2019s because she\u2019s always put her integrity and songcraft first. But to those that know her, Rachel Brooke\u2019s music and legacy loom very large.<\/p><p>Rachel Brooke\u2019s new album\u00a0<em>The One\u2019s For You<\/em>\u00a0out April 24th promises to be her most bona fide country album yet. In fact, it\u2019s super country,\u00a0<em>classic<\/em>\u00a0country, self-produced by Rachel herself, and engineered by the Grammy nominated\/Emmy Award-winning Jake Shives. Though in the past she\u2019s often tapped into dark side of life\u2014including on her 2025 acoustic album\u00a0<em>Sings Sad Songs<\/em>\u2014she often turns to humor to get her point across on the new album, even if there\u2019s darkness behind it. (<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/rachel-brooke-readies-new-album-this-ones-for-you\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">read more<\/a>) <\/p><p><strong>Kevin Carducci \u2013\u00a0<em>Easy Does It<\/em><\/strong><br\/><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-thumbnail\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/kevin-carducci-easy-does-it-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-234625\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>You might\u2019ve never heard of Kevin Carducci before, but you definitely will be wanting to have the music of his new album <em>Easy Does It<\/em> hitting your ears if you have any taste in traditional\/classic country music. The former member and bass player for the West Coast country band The Easy Leaves is back with his debut solo album, and it cooks. It\u2019s being released on the new Fossil Records, founded by Margo Cilker and Ismay. <\/p><p><em>Easy Does It<\/em> is unabashedly a work inspired by the classic Bakersfield sound, hoping to build upon what he started with The Easy Leaves, who ended up opening for folks like Billy Joe Shaver, Dwight Yoakam, and Willie Nelson during their height in the California Country scene. <br\/><strong><br\/>Ben Jarrell \u2013\u00a0<em>Tennessee Turnaround<\/em><\/strong><br\/><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-thumbnail\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/ben-jarrell-tennessee-turnaround-150x150.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-234626\" srcset=\"https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/ben-jarrell-tennessee-turnaround-150x150.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/ben-jarrell-tennessee-turnaround-300x300.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/ben-jarrell-tennessee-turnaround.jpeg 350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Ben Jarrell got the attention of the folks who like to dig for the best in country music with his wild country tune \u201cBlack Helicopter\u201d from 2019, and his crazy diorama album covers on his early releases. He\u2019s always been country, but Ben was also just a little bit off-center in a cool way that made him unique and grabbed your attention.<\/p><p>On his new album <em>Tennessee Turnaround<\/em>, Ben finds a really fetching, sweaty and grooving \u201970s half-time Outlaw sound that is sure is sure to sit right with the crowd in black vests and beyond. Co-writers include Hal ODell, Zach Henard, Ryan Hartman, Preston McCabe, and others, while Anna Westcoat contributes harmony vocals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bobby Dove \u2013\u00a0<em>Fortune Teller<\/em><\/strong><br\/><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-thumbnail\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/bobby-dove-fortune-teller-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-234627\" srcset=\"https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/bobby-dove-fortune-teller-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/bobby-dove-fortune-teller-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/bobby-dove-fortune-teller.jpg 350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Canadian songwriter Bobby Dove blew us away with the album <em><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/album-review-bobby-doves-hopeless-romantic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Hopeless Romantic<\/a><\/em> in 2021, and now is back with what promises to be another stellar selection of songs assembled under the name <em>Fortune Teller<\/em>. Produced by Aaron Goldstein, known for working with the Cowboy Junkies and Kathleen Edwards, the new album includes some of Canada\u2019s best players such as guitarist Nichol Robertson, drummer Dani Nash and pedal steel guitarist Burke Carroll. <\/p><p><em>Fortune Teller<\/em> also includes a co-write\/duet with Grammy Award-winning singer\/songwriter Jim Lauderdale, and a cover of Blaze Foley\u2019s \u201cIf I Could Only Fly.\u201d While the sound is reminiscent of Golden Era country, Bobby Dove always puts the song and the songwriting first. <\/p><p><strong>Jim Lauderdale and the Po\u2019 Ramblin\u2019 Boys \u2013\u00a0<em>The Birds Know<\/em>\u00a0(bluegrass)<\/strong><br\/><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-thumbnail\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/jim-lauderdale-po-ramblin-boys-the-birds-know-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-234628\" srcset=\"https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/jim-lauderdale-po-ramblin-boys-the-birds-know-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/jim-lauderdale-po-ramblin-boys-the-birds-know-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/jim-lauderdale-po-ramblin-boys-the-birds-know.jpg 350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>What\u2019s better than master songwriter Jim Lauderdale, or bluegrass revivalists the Po\u2019 Ramblin\u2019 Boys? The two of them together of course, which resulted in magic on 2023\u2019s <em>The Long and Lonesome Letting Go,<\/em> and now that magic is looking to be rekindled on their new collaborative album <em>The Birds Know<\/em>. <br\/><em><br\/>\u201cSince I first saw them at MerleFest several years ago, and after we did our first album together, I really wanted us to do a follow-up,\u201d<\/em> says\u00a0Lauderdale. <em>\u201cThese songs were all written just for this album. The\u00a0Po\u2019\u00a0Ramblin\u2019\u00a0Boys\u00a0keep the sound of traditional bluegrass alive, but they really bring it into the present day. I\u2019m so happy with the way this record turned out, and I\u2019m looking forward to performing with them in the coming years.\u201d<\/em><\/p><p><strong>Noah Kahan \u2013\u00a0<em>The Great Divide<\/em>\u00a0(Contemporary folk)<\/strong><br\/><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-thumbnail\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/noah-kahan-the-great-divide-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-234629\" srcset=\"https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/noah-kahan-the-great-divide-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/noah-kahan-the-great-divide-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/noah-kahan-the-great-divide.jpg 350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Similar to Zach Bryan, Noah Kahan has taken singer\/songwriter music loosely adjacent to country, but more the domain of contemporary folk all the way to the stadium level. Similar to Zach Bryan, Kahan has stipulated he doesn\u2019t want to be considered country. But both his popularity and styling have greatly influenced the country and Americana realm, especially on the singer\/songwriter side of things. <\/p><p>On a busy release week, <em>The Great Divide<\/em> will definitely be the biggest seller, and likely result in a Billboard 200 No. 1. It might not be for country fans.
