I’m A Celebrity<\/a> star Craig Charles<\/a> has shed light on why Adam Thomas was absent from This Morning.<\/p>\n

During Friday’s instalment of the ITV<\/a> programme, Craig was joined by fellow I’m A Celebrity campmates Mo Farah and Harry Redknapp to look back on their experiences in the South Africa spin-off, alongside hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.<\/p>\n

The three finalists are due to return for the live finale of I’m A Celebrity South Africa later that evening. However, fellow finalist Adam was nowhere to be seen during the interview, prompting Craig to swiftly address the situation.<\/p>\n

Speaking with visible unease, Craig said, “The guys have asked to address why Adam is not here. I’m a bit nervous about this.<\/p>\n

“Since we got back, the last few weeks, it’s all been over social media how Harry, Mo and I have not been with or behind or there for Adam as he was getting bullied,” reports the Mirror<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Craig went on to recall the moment the camp was divided into two following the arrival of Harry and football star Jimmy Bullard. With Harry heading up Team Lion and Jimmy taking charge of Team Rhino, the two groups went head-to-head in a series of challenges.<\/p>\n

The former Coronation Street actor went on to explain that this was when the “banter” between the two camps emerged, with boxer David Haye and Adam frequently engaging in light-hearted exchanges.<\/p>\n

Craig added: “We poked the bear and then David Haye came back at us right. Now, Adam gave as good as he got; he really did give as good as he got. He was laughing and all that.<\/p>\n

“We didn’t realise that he was being emotionally affected by it because he never told us. I asked him yesterday, ‘Why didn’t you tell us?’ and he said, ‘Well, I didn’t want to appear weak.'”<\/p>\n

Craig went on to say that ITV has a “duty of care” and suggested producers hadn’t spotted the bullying, as they would have been obliged to intervene had they done so.<\/p>\n

During the interview, Craig became visibly emotional while explaining how his experience had been “spoilt” by the online abuse directed at certain campmates following the series.<\/p>\n

On Monday, Adam published an extensive Instagram post detailing how David’s behaviour towards him had left him feeling shattered.<\/p>\n

He wrote: “Watching it back hasn’t been easy at all. There were moments I felt pushed to my absolute limit, and if I’m honest, times I didn’t even recognise myself. Living with arthritis is something I don’t really talk about, as much as I should do…but in there it really took its toll.”<\/p>\n

Regarding David, he added: “He broke me in there, he pushed me to my limits, and I’ve told David this, and he’s apologised, and that’s that! I’ve moved on now, am not one to hold a grudge.”<\/p>\n

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
