A brand new tribute to Queen Elizabeth II is under way and
\nyou\u2019re invited to be part of it.<\/p>\n

An online memorial to the late Monarch is being built and
\nmemories and recollections from anyone who lived through her 70
\nyear reign are being invited.<\/p>\n

The Cabinet Office launched the Queen Elizabeth Digital
\nMemorial. It\u2019s gone live as the centenary of her birth, on April 21
\n2026, was marked.<\/p>\n

The portal invites everyone from the \u201dUK, Commonwealth and wider
\nworld\u201d to share their memories of the late Queen.<\/p>\n

It was announced with a string of celebrities, including Dame
\nFloella Benjamin and Olympic gold medallist Tom Daley, sharing
\ntheir own recollections.<\/p>\n

The online tribute<\/a> also includes a timeline
\nof Queen Elizabeth II\u2019s life and reign, looking back at some of the
\nmany moments that make up her legacy.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also an interactive map that pins some of the many
\nplaces and events that Queen Elizabeth II was involved in and which
\nwill grow as more memories are added.<\/p>\n

Tom Daley shared that he first met Queen Elizabeth II in 2008
\nafter taking part in his first Olympics in Beijing. He went with
\nTeam GB to Buckingham Palace for a reception on their return and
\nhis memory on the digital tribute is \u201dI remember when the Queen
\ncame into the room everyone just, she always had this incredible
\npresence and she came round and shook every single member of Team
\nGB\u2019s hand and she made sure to say hello to every single member of
\nthe team.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

He also recalled sitting on the throne after she had left and
\nbeing told off for it \u2013 he was 14 at the time and said he didn\u2019t
\nrealise that was a no no.<\/p>\n

Baroness Amos shared a very special moment, saying \u2018\u2018When I
\nbecame a companion of the Order of the Garter and it was the late
\nQueen who in her very last list made me a lady companion. One of
\nthe most special moments was going to have an audience with her
\nbefore the actual ceremony where she taught through the various
\nparts of the insignia and what they meant.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

All memories are welcomed on the site with contributors asked to
\ntype in a message of at least 5 words, and no more than 1000 words,
\nwhich will then be checked ahead of publication.<\/p>\n

The new website also features details of the National Memorial
\nto Queen Elizabeth II in St. James\u2019 Park. The final details were
\nannounced on April 21 2026, the centenary of her birth.<\/p>\n
