Royal expert Robert Hardman, writing in his book ‘Elizabeth II In Private. In Public The Inside Story’, he said the late Queen knew she had no option but to withdraw her second-born child from public life when he was mentioned in a debate by political leaders.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As reported by WalesOnline<\/a>, Mr Hardman claimed: “When he even surfaced as a question in a televised debate featuring party leaders, the Queen (Elizabeth II) knew that she had no option.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“In tandem with the Prince of Wales, she could see no alternative to Andrew’s removal from public life. After all, public duties only work when the public wants to see someone, as they manifestly did not in this case.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Andrew\u2019s statement announcing his step back from royal duty was released on November 20, 2019.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He wrote: \u201cIt has become clear to me over the last few days that the circumstances relating to my former association with Jeffrey Epstein has become a major disruption to my family\u2019s work and the valuable work going on in the many organisations and charities that I am proud to support.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cTherefore, I have asked Her Majesty if I may step back from public duties for the foreseeable future, and she has given her permission.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cI continue to unequivocally regret my ill-judged association with Jeffrey Epstein. His suicide has left many unanswered questions, particularly for his victims, and I deeply sympathise with everyone who has been affected and wants some form of closure. I can only hope that, in time, they will be able to rebuild their lives. Of course, I am willing to help any appropriate law enforcement agency with their investigations, if required.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing and accusations surrounding his past friendship with Epstein.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
