GEN AND THE DEGENERATES<\/strong> have released a new music video!<\/p>\n The North\u2011west based indie art\u2011punk trio have unveiled their brand new single Favourite Jumper<\/strong>, which follows on from their previous single,\u00a0Wahoo<\/strong><\/a>, which was released in June last year.<\/p>\n Produced by Michael Champion [WET LEG, SWIM SCHOOL]<\/strong>\u00a0and Paul Whalley [THE WANTED, LOUIS TOMLINSON]<\/strong>, Favourite Jumper<\/strong>\u00a0confronts expectations placed on women and pushes back against bisexual erasure with humour and defiance.<\/p>\n Speaking about the track, vocalist Genevieve Glynn\u2011Reeves<\/strong> comments, \u201cwhenever the right wing is on the rise there is this puritanical pressure placed on women to be virtuous. Women are villainised for being overtly sexual and treated as if they don\u2019t have agency or control over their own bodies.<\/em><\/p>\n We see this reflected in rhetoric around bisexual women settling down with men and almost relinquishing their queerness to try and feel safer. I think this is the perfect time to rebel against that and be as slutty and queer as possible. And so this is really just a fun party song of sorts, from the point of view of a bisexual person (guess what \u2013 it\u2019s me), discussing previous experiences in a fun way, but also attempting to reconcile an honest and healthy relationship with a partner, with the totality of that sexuality and sexual history.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Watch the official music video for Favourite Jumper here:<\/strong><\/p>\n
