The Princess Royal joined military and veterans in London today
\nin a moving dawn service honouring the fallen.<\/p>\n

Princess Anne was at Wellington Arch as the sun came up for the
\nAnzac Day ceremony which traditionally takes place at first light
\non April 25. It marks the anniversary of the Gallipoli landings in
\n1915 in which many troops from Australia and New Zealand lost their
\nlives.<\/p>\n

The Princess laid a wreath of red poppies in memory of all those
\nwho have given their lives for their country.<\/p>\n

The dawn service also includes a silence and the playing of the
\nLast Post.<\/p>\n

Veterans and serving military personnel joined Anne for the
\nceremony. Louise Sandher-Jones, the Minister for Veterans and
\nPeople, was also alongside Princess Anne at the commemoration.<\/p>\n

Later, the Princess of Wales took part in the Anzac Day service
\nat the Cenotaph.<\/p>\n

Kate laid a wreath bearing the Prince of Wales feathers and a
\nhand written card signed by both her and William.<\/p>\n

The Cenotaph service was preceded by a parade by serving
\nmilitary personnel and veterans.<\/p>\n

Afterwards, the Princess of Wales went to Wesminster Abbey for
\nthe Anzac Day service there.<\/p>\n

Anzac Day is held on April 25, the anniversary of the ANZAC
\ntroops landing at Gallipoli in 1915 during the First World War, a
\ncampaign that became a defining moment in the history of both
\nAustralia and New Zealand.<\/p>\n

The day begins with dawn services held across Australia, New
\nZealand and the UK, reflecting the time of the original Gallipoli
\nlandings. Veterans, families, and communities gather to pay their
\nrespects through silence, wreath-laying, and the playing of the
\nLast Post. Later in the day, marches and commemorative events take
\nplace in towns and cities in Australia and New Zealand.<\/p>\n

A member of the Royal Family always traditionally attends the
\nAnzac Day ceremonies and this is the first time that Princess Anne
\nand the Princess of Wales have shared the commemorations between
\nthem. In 2025, the Princess Royal travelled to Gallipoli in Turkey
\nto mark the 110th anniversary of the landings.<\/p>\n
