On Thursday, the Duke delivered an impassioned speech at the Kyiv Security Forum, in which he appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin<\/a> to \u201cstop this war\u201d and urged \u201cAmerican leadership\u201d to honour its obligations in the Ukrainian conflict.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The duke, who served on two frontline tours to Afghanistan, also said he was \u201cnot here as a politician\u201d but as \u201ca soldier who understands service\u201d and a \u201chumanitarian\u201d, echoing remarks made by his late mother Diana, Princess of Wales in 1997 during a trip to Angola.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In Ukraine<\/a> on Friday, Harry told ITV News he does not recognise the description of himself as \u201cnot a working royal\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He said: \u201cI will always be part of the royal family and I\u2019m here working and doing the very thing that I was born to do, and I enjoy doing it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI enjoy being able to do these trips and come and support the people that I\u2019ve met before, the friends that I\u2019ve made, and hopefully bringing attention to issues that for one reason or another drop out of the news because something else has popped up.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Harry\u2019s trip comes just days before his father the King begins a major state visit to America to see President Donald Trump<\/a>, against the backdrop of transatlantic tensions over the Iran conflict.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
