Netflix has officially announced 11 cast members for the upcoming live-action film based on the Gundam <\/em>franchise.<\/p>\n The streamer revealed<\/a> that filming for the forthcoming movie has just begun in Queensland, Australia, and also shared 11 main cast members who are a part of the project: Sydney Sweeney<\/a>, Noah Centineo, Sioli Kutsuna, Jackson White, Michael Mando, Nonso Anozie, Oleksandr Rudynskyi, Javon \u201cWanna\u201d Walton, Jason Isaacs, Gemma Chua-Tran, and Ida Brooke.<\/p>\n The biggest names involved with the film are, of course, Sweeney, famous for her role in HBO\u2019s Euphoria <\/em>(and more recently her assorted controversies<\/a>); and Centineo, who\u2019s starred in Netflix\u2019s The Recruit <\/em>and A24\u2019s Warfare.<\/em> Their involvement in the film been previously announced, along with Kutsuna, Mando, and Chua-Tran.<\/p>\n According to Netflix\u2019s Tudum<\/em>, the live-action Gundam <\/em>film will center around an \u201coriginal story that follows rival mech pilots fighting on opposite sides of a decades-long war between Earth and its space-faring colonies.\u201d<\/p>\n COMPLEX SHOP:<\/b> Shop the brands you love, anytime and anywhere. The film is being produced by Legendary Pictures in partnership with Bandai Namco. There\u2019s no word yet on when it will be released.<\/p>\n Yoshiyuki Tomino created the Mobile Suit Gundam <\/em>series, which began with a TV anime in 1979. It went on to define what\u2019s known as the \u201creal robot\u201d mecha anime genre.
