Lane Thomas hit a three-run, walk-off homer in the 10th inning, after Jac Caglianone clubbed a tying two-run shot in the ninth, and the Kansas City Royals rallied past the Los Angeles Angels 11-9 to complete a three-game series sweep Sunday at Kauffman Stadium.<\/p>\n
In a contest whose start was moved up roughly three hours due to predicted severe weather, Kansas City trailed 6-0 after two innings and 8-5 entering the bottom of the ninth.<\/p>\n
The Royals\u2019 Vinnie Pasquantino laced a two-out triple and scored on Salvador Perez\u2019s single. With Drew Pomeranz on the mound, Caglianone then sent a towering drive just inside the right-field foul pole to tie the game at 8.<\/p>\n
With two out in the 10th and runners on first and third base of a 9-8 game, Thomas capped the improbable comeback by sending a pitch from Joey Lucchesi (0-1) over the left-field wall. Automatic runner Carter Jensen and Maikel Garcia, who had walked, also scored.<\/p>\n

Kansas City got on the board in the fifth on Collins\u2019 RBI single to center field. In the sixth, with one man on base, Witt\u2019s first 2026 homer came Angels starter Reid Detmers, who exited with no outs in that inning, made it 6-3.<\/p>\n
Los Angeles got an RBI single from Jo Adell in the seventh, but Collins homered just off the right-field foul pole in the bottom of the inning. After a rain delay of nearly two hours interrupted the seventh, Pasquantino\u2019s sacrifice fly made it 7-5 when play returned.<\/p>\n
Los Angeles added a run in the ninth when Oswald Peraza scored from third on a passed ball by Jensen.<\/p>\n
Kansas City (11-17) is off today before starting a three-game series against the Athletics in West Sacramento, Calif.<\/p>\n
