Olivia Rodrigo<\/a> has shared more insight into what to expect from her forthcoming album, sharing that it is centred around the feelings of \u201cjealousy\u201d and \u201clonging\u201d that arose from her first \u201cbig girl relationship\u201d.<\/p>\n Speculation about new music from the singer started rising last month, when cryptic pink album teasers were discovered by fans in Los Angeles and London<\/a>.<\/p>\n She then announced that her third studio album, \u2018You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love<\/a>\u2019, is set to arrive via Geffen on June 12 and added that it would be \u201cexperimental\u201d and full of \u201csad love songs\u201d.<\/a><\/p>\n It is the follow-up to her critically acclaimed 2021 debut album \u2018Sour<\/a>\u2019 and the highly-praised follow-up, \u2018Guts<\/a>\u2019, which dropped in 2023. Since then, the singer has played countless huge headline shows, including her Pyramid Stage headline set at Glastonbury 2025<\/a>, where she brought out The Cure<\/a>\u2019s Robert Smith<\/a> as a special guest.<\/p>\n Now, Rodrigo has shared more details about what fans can expect from the album, and said that it is majorly inspired by her first \u201cbig girl relationship\u201d and tackles the sense of jealousy that arises when you\u2019re deeply committed to someone.<\/p>\n \u201cI think the challenge for me was to write songs about romantic love positively,\u201d she explained in a new interview with Audacy Check In<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cI think when I set out to write this album, I was really in love \u2013 sort of my first \u2018big girl\u2019 relationship \u2013 [and] writing a song about happiness is a lot harder than writing a song about heartbreak.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was sort of challenging myself to make a love song and also talk about some of the more negative feelings that go along with being in romantic relationships, like longing and yearning and jealousy and missing your partner when they\u2019re away.\u201d<\/p>\n
