Olivia Rodrigo made a surprise appearance at Pete\u2019s Candy Store in New York City on Sunday night to perform her recent single, \u201cDrop Dead.\u201d<\/a> The pop singer took the venue\u2019s small stage during its weekly open mic night.<\/p>\n As seen in the short the clip that has been making the rounds online, Rodrigo was joined by a guitarist for a stripped-down version of the track.<\/p>\n More from Rolling Stone<\/strong><\/p>\n Rodrigo released \u201cDrop Dead\u201d earlier this month alongside a music video filmed at Versailles in France. The song is the lead single from her highly-anticipated album\u00a0You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n On Instagram, Rodrigo\u00a0wrote<\/a>, \u201cI love this song so much!!! It\u2019s the first chapter in the story of \u2018you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love\u2019 and it makes me wanna skip around and roll the windows down and make out!\u201d<\/p>\n You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love<\/em>, which Rodrigo\u2019s fans have dubbed\u00a0GSIL<\/em>, arrives\u00a0June 12 via Geffen Records. It marks her\u00a0third album<\/a>, following 2023\u2019s\u00a0Guts<\/a><\/em>\u00a0and her smash 2021 debut,\u00a0Sour<\/a>.<\/em>\u00a0\u201cNo matter how hard I try to write love songs they always come out laced with a little melancholy,\u201d Rodrigo said upon announcing the new album. \u201cI am so proud of this record, and I can\u2019t wait for you to hear it.\u201d<\/p>\n Rodrigo has yet to share tour dates for\u00a0GSIL<\/em>, which will follow her momentous\u00a0Guts<\/em>\u00a0World Tour that wrapped in August 2025 (the double LP\u00a0Live at Glastonbury<\/a><\/em>\u00a0showcased her incredible year\u00a0touring the festival circuit<\/a>).
