George Strait<\/a> will perform at Memorial Stadium<\/a>, a return that also reunites the country legend with a venue that helped define his stadium touring legacy.<\/p>\n George Strait’s performance at Memorial Stadium will be on Saturday, May 2. This will be the first concert at Memorial Stadium since 1999, which was also headlined by Strait.\u00a0 The concert is part of the “Death Valley Nights<\/a>” summer series of stadium shows.<\/p>\n In 2024, Strait played only a handful of one-off stadium shows, including A&M\u2019s Kyle Field<\/a> in College Station, Texas, where he headlined one of the largest single-ticketed concerts in U.S. history, George Strait: The King at Kyle Field, with 110,905 fans in attendance.<\/p>\n He followed that record-breaking performance with only five live shows in 2025 with stops in\u00a0Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Foxborough, and Inglewood\u2019s SoFi Stadium.<\/p>\n What to know about Strait’s return to Death Valley.<\/p>\n Strait took to Instagram stories<\/a>\u00a0to tease his upcoming performance at Death Valley, posting a picture of a Clemson football jersey with his name on the back.<\/p>\n On Oct. 17, Strait<\/a>\u00a0confirmed the concert with a social media post, revealing that the performance would feature an “in-the-round” format, allowing fans a 360-degree view of the stage.<\/p>\n “Going back to Death Valley for the first time in more than 25 years feels pretty special,”\u00a0Strait<\/a>\u00a0said in the post. “Can\u2019t wait to see you, Clemson.\u201d<\/p>\n Clemson’s athletic department teased<\/a>\u00a0George Strait’s return to Death Valley by posting a short video on its social media accounts with the text “26 years in the making.”<\/p>\n “We’re excited to work with innovative entertainment professionals to deliver exceptional live music experiences at Clemson University,” said\u00a0Graham Neff, Clemson\u2019s Director of Athletics<\/a>.<\/p>\n “Memorial Stadium is a world-class venue for hosting events,” Graham said. “This collaboration between Clemson Ventures and Does Entertainment not only elevates cultural opportunities on campus and strengthens our ties to the Upstate community.\u201d<\/p>\nStrait teased coming to Clemson<\/h2>\n
