Country group Loess Hills<\/a> is back with brand-new music, and fans are already loving it. They even came into the studio for an interview to share some behind-the-scenes adventures.<\/p>\n

The band just released their newest single, \u201cTennessee Wild<\/a>,\u201d\u00a0which dropped on April 21, 2026.\u00a0While Loess Hills is known for upbeat, fun tracks, \u201cTennessee Wild\u201d has a more personal side. Singer Alex Fishbach shared during the interview (below) that the chorus of the song\u00a0was written about his wife and their relationship. This gives\u00a0the song a little more heart than listeners might expect.<\/p>\n

Two members of the group, Tanner Skiff and Alex Fischbach, stopped by the US104.9<\/a> studio to talk all about the new release, the music video, and some of the stories fans didn\u2019t get to see on screen.<\/p>\n

During the interview, they shared how they tracked down the phone booth used in the video, the personal meaning behind the song, and one very funny mistake involving Tanner\u2019s phone contact list.<\/p>\n

Loess Hills has quickly become one of the most talked-about country groups in the Midwest.<\/p>\n

The group is made up of Alex Fischbach, Tanner Skiff, Ro Pesci, Travis Ray, and Jose Rodriguez. Since forming in late 2024, they\u2019ve built a strong following by blending country music with hip-hop, rock, blues, and pop influences, creating a sound they jokingly call \u201cFuntry.\u201d<\/p>\n

That momentum helped them earn Best Original Band in Iowa at the 2025 Iowa Music Awards<\/a>, and they\u2019ve continued building that buzz with songs like \u201cMy Kind of Party\u201d and now “Tennessee Wild.\u201d<\/p>\n

Some Behind-the-Scenes of \u201cTennessee Wild\u201d<\/h3>\n

In the first few scenes\u00a0of\u00a0the music video, there is a phone booth.<\/p>\n

The guys explained that getting the phone booth for the video turned into a full-on adventure, attempting\u00a0to unbolt it from the ground\u00a0and move it without breaking the glass. What seemed like a small prop became one of the biggest missions of the shoot.<\/p>\n

The Funniest Part?\u00a0The Secret \u201cBabe\u201d<\/h3>\n

Possibly the best story from the interview came from one simple music video detail.<\/p>\n

For one scene, they needed it to look like the “lover girl” of the video was calling Alex\u2019s phone. Their solution? Use Tanner’s phone as the prop, change\u00a0Alex’s contact name to “babe,” and change the photo\u00a0to show the “lover\u00a0girl.”<\/p>\n

Problem solved.<\/p>\n

Except\u2026\u00a0Tanner forgot to change it back.<\/p>\n

So later, when\u00a0Alex\u00a0called\u00a0Tanner in real life, his phone lit up with \u201cBabe\u201d and a blond girl on the screen, which created some confusion and a lot of laughs. Alex said in the interview, “Let me know when you are next to your wife so I can call you, haha.”<\/p>\n
