On Day 3 of Stagecoach, the Empire Polo Club in Indio was primed for one more big Western outing before the festival rode off into the sunset. <\/p>\n

After Saturday\u2019s excitement with the festival evacuating attendees due to wind<\/a>, things were still rocking before the gates even opened \u2014 though it was mostly caused by Mother Nature. The morning started with a rumble when a magnitude 3.4 earthquake hit 10 miles from Cabazon at 8:44 a.m.<\/p>\n

As for the music, there were plenty of big moments worth making it out for the festival\u2019s final day. Sunday night brought us a Post Malone headlining set, more \u201890s nostalgia courtesy of Hootie & the Blowfish and special guest Public Enemy and the most famous cameo we saw that day \u2014 the old Arby\u2019s sign from Sunset Boulevard.<\/a><\/p>\n

Getting tipsy in Shaboozey\u2019s pop-up saloon<\/h3>\n

Stagecoach has always been full of branded pop-ups \u2014 well before the corporations invaded Coachella \u2014 but this year was all about the celebrity bar.<\/p>\n

Sydney Sweeney had a pop-up bar on the festival grounds for her Syrn lingerie line that offered karaoke, magnetic darts, and, of course, booze, near other brand booths such as Arby\u2019s and Alaska Airlines.<\/p>\n

Shaboozey\u2019s pop-up saloon took a little more work to find. Tucked into the 12 Peaks area, which is general admission during Stagecoach \u2014 it\u2019s VIP-only during Coachella \u2014 Cherie Lee\u2019s is built to look like an old West saloon on the outside. You know you\u2019re in the right place when you find an old-timey \u201cWanted\u201d poster with the image of the \u201cA Bar Song (Tipsy)\u201d singer out front. You walk down a dimly lit hallway (honestly, it gave Disneyland Big Thunder Mountain line vibes), and through swinging saloon doors into a cozy room.<\/p>\n

They were giving out black bandannas with a drawing of Cherie Lee\u2019s saloon emblazoned with Shaboozey \u201cThe Outlaw Cherie Lee,\u201d the name of his forthcoming concept album.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a tag on the bandanna that allows you to give them your information in order to hear some of the new music.<\/p>\n

Like Sweeney\u2019s pop-up, this saloon isn\u2019t totally for show \u2014 there are selected premixed cocktails available. And when I was there, there was someone dressed in old-timey garb playing a banjo. (Vanessa Franko)<\/i><\/p>\n

At Stagecoach, the one burning question this whole weekend has been this iconic sign that people are passing by on the polo fields \u2014 is it the original neon cowboy hat from the Sunset Boulevard Arby\u2019s?<\/p>\n

Local Arby\u2019s franchisee Roger Amaya tells us it is! \u201cWe were thinking about the iconic sign that was going to get torn down. Our CEO, Amir Siddiqi, was able to grasp it,\u201d Amaya said. \u201cAs you can see, everyone\u2019s loving it. Everyone\u2019s getting a photo op standing in front of it.\u201d As a bonus, the iconic sign appears to be in great shape.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were able to get our neon sign guy named James to restore the whole sign,\u201d Amaya said. After Stagecoach, where is the cowboy hat sign going next? \u201cThat is the big question,\u201d Amaya said. \u201cSo you got to stay tuned.\u201d (Mikael Wood)<\/i><\/p>\n

Third Eye Blind wins the battle of the \u201890s sunset acts<\/h3>\n

Between Counting Crows, Bush and Third Eye Blind<\/a>, all \u201890s alt artists booked for the sunset set on the Mustang Stage throughout Stagecoach 2026, the latter drew the biggest crowd on Sunday evening with a mix of hits that hit the best of the band\u2019s first two records.<\/p>\n

\u201cNever Let You Go,\u201d \u201cGraduate\u201d and \u201cJumper\u201d were highlights early in the set before closing with \u201cSemi-Charmed Life\u201d and \u201cHow\u2019s It Gonna Be.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you for loving us,\u201d singer Stephan Jenkins said. \u201cWe didn\u2019t know how this was gonna go.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brooks & Dunn bring a reminder of Stagecoach\u2019s roots<\/h3>\n

However pop-minded Stagecoach has become in the last five to 10 years, the festival still holds down its centrist-country roots, as Brooks & Dunn showed Sunday night with a rowdy yet polished main-stage performance that featured plenty of the duo\u2019s down-the-middle hits \u2014 \u201cBrand New Man,\u201d \u201cRed Dirt Road,\u201d \u201cNeon Moon\u201d \u2014 and concluded with a rendition of \u201cOnly in America\u201d that had the two veteran musicians positioned before a line of proud police officers. Hootie & the Blowfish have a political moment at Stagecoach with Public Enemy\u2019s Chuck D and Flavor Flav<\/h3>\n

Hootie & the Blowfish is known for a good time. The band\u2019s pop-rock hits are infectious. Singer Darius Rucker found fame with a solo country career and has played Stagecoach before. On Sunday night, the band played its biggest hits, including \u201cHold My Hand,\u201d \u201cTime\u201d and \u201cLet Her Cry,\u201d but they also made a political statement.<\/p>\n

Notable moments of the set included a rollicking version of \u201cWagon Wheel\u201d that had the crowd singing and dancing along, covers of REM\u2019s \u201cLosing My Religion\u201d and Led Zeppelin\u2019s \u201cHey Hey What Can I Do\u201d and the massive Hootie hit \u201cOnly Wanna Be With You\u201d with a funk break for a mid-song cover of Kool & the Gang\u2019s \u201cGet Down On It.\u201d<\/p>\n

But the highlight of the performance was the end. The band closed its set with a cover of Buffalo Springfield\u2019s \u201cFor What It\u2019s Worth\u201d before bringing out Public Enemy\u2019s Chuck D and Flavor Flav to join them and also to perform \u201cFight the Power.\u201d<\/p>\n

It seemed rather poignant to have the moment at the conservative-leaning Stagecoach, a festival where organizers had to ban Confederate flag gear a few years back, but hopefully the moment wasn\u2019t lost on the partying masses. \u201cWith everything going on in the world these days, I think it\u2019s a good place for the song,\u201d Rucker told The Times prior to his band\u2019s performance. Post Malone closes Stagecoach with style if not excitement<\/h3>\n

Almost exactly a year after he closed out Coachella<\/a> in 2025, Post Malone returned to the Empire Polo Club late Sunday to headline the final night of Stagecoach.<\/p>\n

\u201cWho\u2019s f\u2014 thirsty this evening, ladies and gentlemen?\u201d he asked not long into the show \u2014 Malone\u2019s way of introducing his song \u201cPour Me a Drink,\u201d for which he opened a can of his beloved Bud Light by smashing it against his head.<\/p>\n

Stylistically, Malone\u2019s 90-minute set was in line with the shows he\u2019s been playing since he dropped his first official country album, \u201cF-1 Trillion,\u201d in 2024; the sound was high-gloss Nashville-alia purveyed by a crack group of players, including fiddlers and background singers.
