Tom Hanks was seen supporting son Chet Hank over the weekend.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The iconic actor, 69, attended the music set of his 35-year-old’s son at Stagecoach on Saturday, April 25. Chet and his band, Something Out West, performed at the music<\/a> festival inside the Toyota Music Den. Tom<\/a> was spotted singing along to the band’s track, You Better Run.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Chet’s music appearance comes following him being stopped by cops for driving a car with missing plates.<\/a> A festivalgoer, Keren Ashri, videotaped the moment of the Tom jamming near her at the group’s set and noted her realization that it was him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Tom was in a grey brimmed hat, a light grey jacket and blue denim jeans. The two-time Oscar winner had his hands behind his back as nodded his head and sang along.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Keren captioned the video, “Watching Chet Hanks then realizing his dad is next to me,” and captioned the post, “Woody!!! The day I met my idol.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The attendee spoke to PEOPLE <\/a>about the moment, saying, “10 minutes into the show, I noticed him and freaked out honestly. I couldn\u2019t believe he was standing right there next to me! He was enjoying watching his son.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She also told the outlet that Tom interacted with fans and was very “gracious.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“I finally gathered the courage and went to introduce myself and said I’m a huge fan, and he was very kind and gracious,\u201d Keren recounted. “A few more members in the crowd noticed him after the show was over, and he was very gracious to take a few pictures with the fans.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Something Out West, which comprises of Chet and his former roommate and friend Drew Arthur, released a You Better Run music video that honored Forrest Gump<\/a> (1994) in March 2025.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

There were several references made in the music video that paid homage to the Academy Award-winning comedy-drama.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The references included Chet in a suit sitting on a park bench with a box of chocolate, the band performing on a shrimp boat named Jenny, a Jenny look-alike, the bullying scene which featured the iconic line “Run, Forrest, run!,” Forrest’s cross-country run, and an actual cameo from Tom, himself.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In the cameo, Tom is on the bench with a suit Chet as he eyed him. In other parts, the two are seen smiling next to each other and hugging each other.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Chet is the son of Tom and his wife, actress and singer Rita Wilson, 69. They welcomed Chet in August 1990.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
