In his final interview<\/a> before his death, Hulk Hogan opened up about experiencing suicidal thoughts after his split from his ex-wife, Linda Hogan.<\/p>\n The raw and honest interview was conducted as part of a new Netflix documentary titled Hulk Hogan: Real America<\/em>. It was released on Wednesday, April 22, and reveals personal details of the professional wrestler\u2019s life that many fans were likely not aware of.<\/p>\n Hogan passed away from a heart attack at the age of 71-years-old in July 2025.<\/p>\n He was married to Linda for 26 years before she filed for divorce in 2007. Obsess.<\/a><\/p>\n Hogan revealed that going through his divorce led him to become \u201cbroke\u201d and that he was forced to lose 70 percent of his savings to \u201cget rid of\u201d his ex-wife.<\/p>\n In the midst of the divorce chaos, Hogan made a comment to Rolling Stone <\/em>in which he claimed he was \u201ctaking the high road\u201d by not choosing to do \u201cthe O.J. Simpson thing.\u201d This was a reference to the infamous NFL star O.J. Simpson, who was accused of murdering his wife, Nicole Brown Simpson.<\/p>\n Much of the public felt this comment was inappropriate, and it led to Hogan receiving a lot of harsh backlash. This took a toll on him mentally.<\/p>\n \u201cI went home, and I started drinking and, you know, started eating pills. I just went down this rabbit hole for a couple days,\u201d he recalled.<\/p>\n Ultimately, Hogan says he came close to taking his own life.<\/p>\n \u201cThe next thing I know, I\u2019m sitting in front of my bathroom with a gun in my mouth and not knowing what I was doing,\u201d he recalled.<\/p>\n Linda, now 66-years-old, also spoke out during the documentary.
