After Melania Trump called for Jimmy Kimmel Live! to be canceled, her husband, Donald, shared his thoughts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Melania<\/a> first slammed the late-night host<\/a> for his joke about the White House Correspondents’ Dinner during his Thursday, April 23, show. Kimmel did a parody monologue about what he would have said if he were hosting the event.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

One of his jokes poked fun at Melania<\/a>, telling her she had “a glow like an expectant widow.” Two days after the show aired, during the actual White House Correspondents’ Dinner, a man opened fire, which led to the president and First Lady being escorted out.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Melania took to X on April 27 to slam Kimmel for his joke, calling him a “coward.” Hours later, her husband chimed in.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Trump wrote on Truth Social, “Wow, Jimmy Kimmel, who is in no way funny as attested to by his terrible Television Ratings, made a statement on his Show that is really shocking. He showed a fake video of the First Lady, Melania, and our son, Barron, like they were actually sitting in his studio, listening to him speak, which they weren\u2019t, and never would be.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Trump continued, “He then stated, ‘Our First Lady, Melania, is here. Look at Melania, so beautiful. Mrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow.’<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“A day later a lunatic tried entering the ballroom of the White House Correspondents Dinner, loaded up with a shotgun, handgun, and many knives. He was there for a very obvious and sinister reason. I appreciate that so many people are incensed by Kimmel\u2019s despicable call to violence, and normally would not be responsive to anything that he said but, this is something far beyond the pale.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He ended his rant with, “Jimmy Kimmel should be immediately fired by Disney and ABC. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Melania’s tweet read, “Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn’t comedy- his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America. People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him. Enough is enough. It is time for ABC to take a stand. How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community,” she continued.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This isn’t the first time that Kimmel has been in the spotlight for one of his jokes. In September 2025, the comedian’s show was suspended indefinitely after he made a joke about the assassination of Charlie Kirk and said that his death was being used for “political points” by right-wing politicians. After outrage, the show was brought back on air after a week.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Jimmy Kimmel has not yet commented on Melania and Donald’s social media posts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
