Dylan Carter<\/a>, a contestant on Season 24 of \u201cThe Voice,\u201d died in a car accident on Saturday. <\/p>\n According to the NBC<\/a> affiliate serving the Lowcountry region of South Carolina, the musician died in a single-vehicle crash on a rural road in Colleton County. He was 24. <\/p>\n Country music legend Reba McEntire, who was Carter\u2019s coach on \u201cThe Voice,\u201d posted a tribute on social media Monday morning, writing, \u201cWe will miss Dylan so much. He was a brilliant, kind and talented young man who brought a huge ray of sunshine to The Voice. Rest in peace, my dear friend.\u201d<\/p>\n Moncks Corner Mayor Thomas Hamilton Jr. also memorialized <\/a>the Lowcountry singer, writing on Facebook that his family was \u201cheartbroken\u201d to hear about the accident. <\/p>\n \u201cAs a gifted singer, he frequently entertained our community with his performances at Town events,\u201d read the post. \u201cHis kindness and charm earned him immense respect, and his absence will be deeply felt. <\/p>\n \u201cTo the loved ones and acquaintances of Dylan, we offer our sincerest condolences during this difficult period. The Town of Moncks Corner, its Council, and entire staff extend their deepest sympathies. He was much more to our family than an entertainer he was our friend and we are deeply saddened.\u201d<\/p>\n Carter was slated to perform Monday night at the town of Moncks Corner\u2019s \u201cMusic on Main\u201d event. The organizer posted that the event had been canceled, and the comments section was filled with an outpouring of shock and grief. <\/p>\n Carter competed on Season 24 of \u201cThe Voice\u201d in 2023. During his blind audition, the singer sang Whitney Houston\u2019s<\/a> \u201cI Look to You,\u201d which he dedicated to his mother, who had died the year before. During his audition, all four judges turned their chairs for the contestant, with Gwen Stefani<\/a> hitting her red button during the song\u2019s first verse. <\/p>\n \u201cYou only get four chairs if you really move the room,\u201d said judge Niall Horan<\/a>, who called his performance spectacular. <\/p>\n
