James Norton<\/a> marked an impressive win on Sunday alongside his rarely-seen parents.<\/p>\n

The Happy Valley<\/em> actor<\/a>, 40, revealed he ran the London Marathon and raised an incredible \u00a3132,000 for Breakthrough T1D, a type 1 diabetes research and advocacy organisation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Documenting the day,\u00a0the British actor\u00a0<\/a>shared a series of emotional photos with his mum and dad, Hugh and Lavinia, who were there to cheer him on from the sidelines.<\/p>\n

In a lengthy caption accompanying the images, James, who suffers from the health condition, revealed he had a chest infection on the day, but still made it over the finish line.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The McMafia star wrote on his Instagram account: “Did it. Just. Had a chest infection which made it pretty gruelling (and took longer than hoped), but the incredible support from the crowds carried me to the finish line. So much love and sweat and tears. A mad and beautiful experience @londonmarathon<\/a><\/p>\n

James added: “Mostly though, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated to my @justgiving<\/a> page to raise funds for @breakthrought1duk<\/a>. With the additional support from the v generous @bukhmanfoundation<\/a>, right now we are at a total of \u00a3132,000 and counting. This money will go towards supporting young diabetics across the county, but also each pound raised gets us closer to the cure that all of us Type 1 Diabetics so desperately want, including my mum, my sister and this brave little girl in the above photo called Emma, who is 6 years old, but was diagnosed when she was only 2.<\/p>\n

The House of Guinness star continued: “Thanks also to the tech that got me safely to the finish line. I wear a @dexcomukie<\/a> G7 monitor and an @omnipod<\/a> 5 pump 24 hours a day (the devices stuck to my arm in above photo) but they were especially important during the marathon, keeping my glucose levels in range and therefore keeping me safe. Stars who ran this year<\/h2>\n

James wasn’t the only star who took on the 26.2-mile challenge this year; Wicked star Cynthia Erivo, Tilly Ramsay – Gordon Ramsay’s youngest daughter, Radio DJ, Clara Amfo, Skins actor Jack O’Connell and McFly’s Harry Judd were among the big names who took part.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Dracula star, Cynthia, who ran this year for The Kings Trust and Shameless Fund, already had two marathons under her belt by the time Saturday rolled around, and completed the epic run in a very impressive three hours and twenty-one minutes, beating her own record.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Acknowledging her epic achievement, she wrote on Instagram: “3:21:40 New personal best,” the actress penned.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
