Matt Groening, creator of the animated comedies \u201cThe Simpsons\u201d and \u201cFuturama,\u201d dined at Mid-City restaurant Rosedale and left the spot with drawings of two iconic \u201cSimpsons\u201d characters.<\/p>\n

One of the drawings, dated Saturday, April 25, shows Bart Simpson saying \u201cRosedale is delicious,\u201d according to a post made by the restaurant on Instagram. Another features Krusty the Clown saying, \u201cHey Rosedale.\u201d<\/p>\n

Both drawings are signed by Groening, who called himself a fan of the restaurant.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Simpsons\u201d and New Orleans have had an up-and-down relationship<\/a>. During the show\u2019s golden era in the \u201890s, the writers drew the ire of New Orleanians for a song in the season 4 episode \u201cA Streetcar Named Marge\u201d that referenced stereotypes associated with the Crescent City.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

However, the season 29 episode \u201cLisa Gets the Blues,\u201d which aired in 2018, featured a more affectionate take on the city. The episode\u2019s standout scene featured Homer going on a rapid-fire food tour<\/a> as he scarfed down all manner of oysters, gumbos and po-boys at several New Orleans restaurants.<\/p>\n
