The Beyhive has been buzzing that a new Beyonc\u00e9 album is imminent. But fans eagerly awaiting Act III of her trilogy will have to wait, TODAY has confirmed.<\/p>\n
Recent Instagram posts by the singer as well as her duties as a\u00a0co-chair of this year\u2019s Met Gala<\/a>\u00a0have prompted fans to develop a theory that she will release a new album on May 4. But a source close to Beyonc\u00e9 with direct knowledge of the situation told TODAY that Act III will not be released next week.<\/p>\n Additionally, on April 27, Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, took to X to deny a forthcoming album. A fan account had alleged in a post that the album will be announced during the week of the Met Gala, and released in the summer.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is unequivocally false!!\u201d\u00a0Noel-Schure commented<\/a>\u00a0on the post.<\/p>\n Beyonc\u00e9 revealed in 2022<\/a>\u00a0that her album \u201cRenaissance\u201d was the first of an album trilogy. She followed the disco and dance-influenced album with Act II, the country music-inflected \u201cCowboy Carter<\/a>\u201c in 2024. The progression has now led fans to believe the third album of the trilogy will have a rock music theme.<\/p>\n TODAY Digital Executive Editor Arianna Davis Santana dissected the fan theory on TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle on April 27, noting how a series of photos Beyonc\u00e9 recently posted on\u00a0Instagram<\/a>\u00a0of herself in a purple dress appeared to be \u201cvery Prince-coded, very \u2018Purple Rain.\u2019\u201d Her look has fueled the speculation that the new album will be rock-influenced.<\/p>\n She also noted that the Met Gala falls on May 4, and that four is Beyonc\u00e9’s favorite number.<\/p>\n Santana also noted that on April 24,an\u00a0Instagram<\/a>\u00a0post by Beyonc\u00e9 showed her holding up three lemons, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of her album “Lemonade.” Fans also took the number of lemons \u2014 3 \u2014 as a hint that Act III is on the way.<\/p>\n Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones were not convinced that Beyonc\u00e9 would use the Met Gala as a forum to promote a new album.<\/p>\n “This is what I think. I know people may disagree. I feel like that\u2019s like proposing at someone\u2019s wedding,” Sheinelle said on TODAY April 27.<\/p>\n “One hundred percent,” Jenna added. “She\u2019s not going to Anna Wintour\u2019s party and saying, \u2018Let\u2019s talk about me.\u2019”<\/p>\n The theme for the\u00a02026 Met Gala<\/a>\u00a0will be “fashion is art,” according to the event’s committee. Guests are invited to express their own relationship to fashion as an embodied artform, according to a statement by Vogue.<\/p>\n Beyonc\u00e9, tennis legend Venus Williams and Oscar winner Nicole Kidman are joining Vogue\u2019s Anna Wintour as co-chairs of this year’s gala.
