After her Oscar-nominated turn<\/a> as Glinda in Wicked<\/em>, Ariana Grande has been scooping up screen and stage credits<\/a> \u2014 starring in the upcoming Focker-in-Law <\/em>and American Horror Story <\/em>Season 13, and joining Jonathan Bailey in next year\u2019s revival<\/a> of Sunday in the Park with George <\/em>in London. But rest assured, her own music is still very much in bloom.<\/p>\n On April 28, Grande announced<\/a> her eighth studio album Petal <\/em>by sharing what seems to be her happiest cover art yet: a black-and-white shot of herself beaming, eyes closed and hair in carefree waves.<\/p>\n The reveal comes after the Grammy winner teased flower imagery<\/a> earlier this month, and described the spirit of her latest project in a montage<\/a> of studio clips: \u201cSomething that is full of life and growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging.\u201d Summer optimism incoming!<\/p>\n Grande also shared her new album\u2019s release date, July 31, which falls during her highly anticipated Eternal Sunshine <\/em>tour<\/a>. As the \u201cWe Can\u2019t Be Friends\u201d hitmaker shared on Amy Poehler\u2019s Good Hang <\/em>podcast<\/a>, \u201cI do know that I\u2019m very excited to do this small tour, but I think it might not happen again for a long, long, long, long time.\u201d<\/p>\n While Grande didn\u2019t want to say anything \u201cdefinitive\u201d regarding her future plans, she could be closing a chapter of sorts \u2014 for the time being, that is. \u201cSo I\u2019m gonna give it my all, and it\u2019s gonna be beautiful, and I\u2019m so grateful. I think that\u2019s why I\u2019m doing it, because I\u2019m like, one last hurrah<\/em>. For now!\u201d Now, the arrival of Petal <\/em>gives Arianators one more thing to celebrate along the way.<\/p>\n Of course, even if Grande plans to scale back touring, she\u2019s made clear that her music isn\u2019t going anywhere.
